carilys

You shouldn't have to do this alone.

carilys brings your whole care team into one secure place: medications, appointments, documents, the daily updates that keep everyone on the same page, and support for your own wellbeing. So you can stop being the go-between and start being present.

We're opening access soon. The waitlist is the way in.

Two hands reaching toward each other, a heart between them.

A space to coordinate all of the care isn't a luxury. It's a necessity.

The group chat isn't working

Your sister texts you at 10 PM asking if Dad ate. Your brother didn't see the message about Thursday's appointment. The home care nurse left a note nobody found.

Was the 2 o'clock pill taken?

You check the pill organizer. It looks like maybe they took it? You call your mom. She's not sure either. This happens every single day.

The folder you can never find

The insurance card is at your sister's. The power of attorney is in a drawer somewhere. The specialist's report from last month? Nobody's sure who has it.

Are you a caregiver?

Most people who are have never used the word about themselves. You help a parent, a partner, a neighbour, because it's what you do, because you're the one who's there. The word tends to show up long after the work does.

Built for how caregiving actually works

Shared Care Calendar

See who's covering when. Spot the gaps while they're still easy to fill. Coordinate appointments without the 12-message group chat.

Medication Tracking

Real-time dose logging everyone can see. Interaction alerts that flag risks. Refill reminders before you're down to the last pill.

Secure Document Vault

Medical records, insurance, legal documents: encrypted, and accessible to the right people, from anywhere.

Care Team Updates

A shared feed for daily notes, observations, and questions. No more "did anyone tell you about..." conversations.

Emergency Card

One tap reveals a complete medical summary: conditions, medications, allergies, emergency contacts. Prepared ahead of time, so nobody has to go looking for it on the day someone asks.

Caregiver Check-in

Caring for someone takes energy, and yours counts too. Gentle check-ins, a read on your own fatigue, and resources when the load gets heavy.

A support plan for you

A few questions about your situation, and carilys suggests concrete next steps: what your circle can take on, what professional or community support to look for, and who to call if it can't wait.

Built-in help assistant

A question about carilys or the automated calls? Ask right in the app. The assistant never discusses medications, and it can tell your circle you need help, with no health details.

Resources close to home

Info-aidant, CLSCs, Alzheimer Societies, tax credits and allowances: a directory of public and community resources from here, sorted by the kind of help you need, financial support included.

Their health data is sacred. We treat it that way.

Encrypted in Transit & at Rest

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our cloud infrastructure. Health insurance and private insurance numbers get an extra layer of application-level encryption.

Biometric & Session Lock

You can require a fingerprint or Face ID to open the app. It also locks itself after a period of inactivity, in case your phone is left unattended.

Loi 25 & hosted in Canada

For a child under 14, a parent's consent is required. Consents can be reviewed and withdrawn in the app, and the person responsible can delete the whole circle. You can request access to your data or its deletion. Our application servers are in Montreal (Google Cloud). Some processing goes through providers outside Canada, for AI calls, telephony, email, notifications and crash reports, as described in the privacy policy.

Calls to check in

You can't be there every minute. With your consent, carilys calls your loved one between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., in a Quebec French voice, to see how they are doing and to remind them about a medication when one is needed.

Wellness check-ins. A gentle call to see how the day is going.
Medication reminders. A reminder with the name and the dose when a scheduled dose is missed.
Your team is told. No answer, or a request for help, and your circle knows right away.
You stay in control. Consent is given, reviewed and withdrawn in the app, at any time.

Common questions about the calls

How do the calls work?

carilys places two kinds of calls: a wellness check-in ("How are you feeling today? Do you need help?") and a personalized reminder when a medication dose is missed. Calls are placed between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Eastern, in a Quebec French voice. When your loved one confirms they took their medication, the dose is logged in the shared tracker.

What happens if my loved one doesn't answer?

The call is logged as unanswered and your care circle is notified. If your loved one signals instead that they need help, the escalation contacts you chose can be called in turn. The number of calls per phone number and per circle is capped.

Who is notified, and what does the team see?

Members of the care circle see the full call history and its outcomes in the app. The notifications sent to a phone carry no health information.

How is consent given?

Calls are off by default. The person responsible for the circle gives explicit consent, which is verified server-side before every call and can be withdrawn at any time. The accepted text, its version and its date stay available in the app. For a care recipient under 14, the consent of the person holding parental authority is required.

Are the calls recorded?

No. carilys asks its telephony provider for no audio recording. What is kept in the family's record is the text transcript of the exchange and the outcome of the call.

Where is the data hosted?

The core of the application, meaning the database, the documents and the server functions, is hosted in Montreal on Google Cloud. Some processing still goes through providers outside Canada, notably for the audio of conversational calls and for telephony. Our Security and compliance page names them one by one, with the date each was last verified.

What that looks like day to day

If even one of those lines sounds like you, you're a caregiver.

The word adds nothing to your shoulders. It recognizes what you already do. Quebec passed a law in 2020 that formally recognizes the role you're already filling, and support exists for you: respite, someone to talk to, guidance, tax credits.

Act to recognize and support caregivers, passed in 2020.

You may already be doing some of this:

  • Emotional support

You call to check in, you listen, you steady them on the hard days.

  • Everyday help

Meals, groceries, laundry, a hand with bathing or getting dressed.

  • A role in their care

Medications, appointments, the questions for the home care nurse, the follow-ups someone has to remember.

  • Logistics

Driving, forms, bills, the documents that need finding and the calls that need making.

  • Keeping watch

You keep an eye out, even from far away. One unanswered call and you know something's off.

Coordinate care as a team, without it all resting on your memory.
